After my haggard and tiring week, i will be celebrating my holiday with the workers.

I will attend the Labor day tomorrow because this is one of my contributions that i can provide for the workers. I am not exposed anymore with the street parliament activities so i decided to attend such. I will be meeting again my old friends, my old comrades and my old campaign and will be reminiscing my old self, my old advocacy and my old days.

I will update my blogsite after the end of the activity. Maybe, i will be posting also some of my road pictures. See you!

My Baby Boy: Paul Freedom Relacion

After the long-romantic-unexpected-colorful-exciting love affair of my bestfriend Malaya and Pablo (his real name is Paul, actually), our first son was born in the name of Paul Freedom Relacion.

Did it give you a confusion why i called their child as my first son? Well, This question is very easy to answer. Freedom is the son of everybody but limited to both of us (Bayan and Me). hahaha.. Then why did he become son of everybody? Simple, this is part of irony of reality. haha. But nevertheless, Freedom is my first son.

I was texted by Malaya day before of my son's birth. I responded to her message and told her that I will visit the hospital before my class. The next day, i was informed that she already gave birth. I, accompanied by my mom, went to the hospital.

A boy was born. As subjectively-yet-true description of her mom when I chatted her in YM, she described our son as follows:

malayaintise: February 02, 2009 at 10:45pm weighing 6.45lbs
malayaintise: cute, very cute-our little angel

(a copy and paste conversation of Me and Malaya. hahaha..)

Well, i am so excited to become his dad. I considered it as my new challenge in life. Although, i do not have any experience when it comes to this but i know that everything can be learned.

I will be posting some of my son's update in this blog.

Love you son!

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) gives special attention to adolescents and youth through their participation in a variety of activities, initiatives and programs designed to build on their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm. This includes policy decisions not only to bolster their self confidence but also to encourage them to exercise their rights and responsibilities of citizenship. UNFPA recognizes that young people’s health, education, skills- building and over- all development are of utmost global urgency for sustained socio- economic development.

Following the discussions and recommendations agreed upon during its initial meeting in April 2004, the Global YAP was established and meetings are held each year. In October 2007, YAP Philippines started its formal operation. The establishment of the Youth Advisory Panel is part of UNFPA’s commitment to young people’s empowerment. The Panel’s contributions will assist the organization’s priority-setting in this core area of its mandate, and involve young people and youth-serving organizations in suggesting innovative approaches in the design of youth-friendly policies and programmes.

As of 2009, half of the members will retire while the remaining half will continue for another year while mentoring the new members of the panel. As such, this is a call for application to the UNFPA Philippines YAP. Interested parties must read the attached Terms of Reference and complete the form. Along with a letter of recommendation from the head of the organization represented, send the completed form to Ms. Albano of the UNFPA Philippines Country Office on or before 15 May 2009 with the address shown below.

My Summer Classes just Began...

Since i failed two subjects Last school year's first semester, i am obliged to take the summer classes this year. I learned that this is the first time that the law school is offering such classes so i grabbed this opportunity for the reason that this is maybe my calling to be a regular student of next school year. However, upon learning (after i just finished enrolling for summer classes) that i failed the statutory construction subject, i just lost my hope of being a regular student.

But then again, Akit always keeps on reminding me that my failure to the said subject is not unusual since the one who has problem is our teacher and not us. Well, admittedly, what she said is true for the reason that majority of us failed the said subject hence, this reality is not exceptional and isolated.

Well, i just need to live with it, the reality that law school is a tough school, VERY TOUGH SCHOOL!

Just pray for me to pass this course.!

Goodluck!

My Trip to Matigol Falls

My friend left me a message if i could join them to Matigol, Arakan, North Cotabato. They told me that there is falls there and that they knew also the indigents of the village where we will spend our night.

After my hitch mode going there due to financial constraints, we arrived there by april 11, meeting different climbers who went there also to visit the falls and embraced the coolness of the wind while walking for 1 hour under the heat of the sun several kilometers from Camp Uno of Marilog District to Matigol.
BTW, I experienced again sitting in the top load of the jeep since there are no available seats for us.We spent our first day in visiting the Lake Kawa. Lake Kawa is the top portion of the falls. It was called as such since it is like a big frying pan. Kawa is a bisaya translation for huge frying pan. From this lake, you can see the falls if you will look downwards from its cliff. You can see also from afar the sunset/sunrise. So we grabbed this oppurtunity and we took some pictures for purpose of posting it to friendster and other social networking site. LOLS.
We went back to the village and I saw again the amazing view of the place. I think i was teleported to South Korea since this kind of place is like the scenes of South Korean Movies' shoots. whew!

We spent our second day in falls. We walked more than the distance we travelled from village to Lake Kawa plus the heat of the sun and no other source of water for drinking. HOWEVER, this moment was replaced by the good view that we saw during our walk. You can see the sky clearly, the green grasses, tall trees of mountain, hear the water from rivers, flying hawkesvil eagle and other wonderful masterpiece of our creator. FURTHERMORE, it was totally repaid when we arrived at the falls. WHEW! it so wonderful, it is so amazing!

After lunchtime, we leaved the village. We bid our goodbyes to them and they said their own farewell to us. This experience is trully worth to treasure. I hope that i can go back and visit again the deepest secret of our nature.

When did i realize that there is God?

It happened when we went to Lake Sebu... I saw the magnificent falls there. As what Brian told us after seeing the falls, "Damn! Then there is God!".

I agree with Brian. Ill just let you know when will I encounter God again.

Contradiction Within, Conflict Inside

I am just torn with the idea if i should continue my chosen path or not. I am not that kind of person to be bothered on some small things but i prefer to answer this once and for all.

it started when I entered law school. Before, i dont encounter things which failed my expectations: high grades, good recitations, enjoyed social life and good friends. Only in this institution that it exposed me that there is certainly an another side of the coin.

Got a failing mark in 3 subjects (so far and i hope that it is the only last subject to get such failing mark), less social involvement, few extra curricular activities (literally) and rich classmates (finance, brains, properties and etc.) are some disappointment momentum i have encountered in my law school life. This is not what i intended, i just want a carefree life where i can enjoy it, study hard while having an involvement outside the school.

However, one of my friend always reminds me of one thing that if you encounter this kind of feeling of failure and disappointment, always go back to basic. That basic question is, "Why I am Here?"

Yeah, it is true! I am in lawschool because of them, because of the children and youth who become victims of oppression and abuses. Furthermore, i am also here because i want to prove to my father that i more than what he thinks about me. But balancing these reasons, i prefer the former than the latter.

I will try to introduce my different inspirations as i will continue my blog posting. Take Care!

my unforgettable road trip experience

We have gone to lake sebu with some of my classmates in Lawschool namely, Tateen, Elle, Shajani, Brian, Jopet, Charlen and Tine. This company is not my usual company that i get along with. They have different attitude compare to Michelle and Akit. Although their attitudes are comparable, i didn't mind it and i just let the flow go for me to meet other people in Viada.

At first, i have hesistations to mingle with them, although i already knew them as my classmates but never in my life had a long time discussing with some things which are not purely academic. Taking also the considerations that i have my own reservation when it comes to them since they relatively brilliant and intelligent people than me so i need to act accordingly and make sure that i will not mention any words since i have a poor grammar lessons. ahaha.

Even, i observe them while in travel that they have a hard time understanding the culture of other people, the local people who lives in places where we visited. They make fun and jokes of the faces of the locals which for me is very below the belt jokes. But i guess, i should also take their background that they grew up living with handsome, cute and pretty guys and gals in urban.

But nevertheless, after the long trip, i made myself comfortable to them. They are not as what i thought about them. They are more than an intelligent and brilliant robots. They exceeded my reservations. They just proved that they are otherwise and by that, they are more than my friends now!

Maybe, after all, people who thinks like mine would not appreciate the true essence of life. I must say that this world has 2 faces, a face of urban living and a face of rural thinking. Hence, i must know how to adjust my personality according to the habitat i am with everytime i mingle with different group of person. I can't blame them for being such and likewise, they can't blame me also. They taught me how to live in urban, so they must know how to adjust and be taught with the rural life, which they eventually did within 4 days of travel.

For me, after they learned that one, this trip is not only a road trip but it becomes the trip of my life.

BTW, I considered them already more than my friend. (however, i am not sure if the feeling is mutual. hehe)

ill just check my grammar one month after by reading and editing this post again. Joan will help me with my english tutorials. Hope that there will be development with this one.
